“You’re Love is My Drug”

So apparently (heaven forbid) Kei$ha or however the hell she spells the name may have some scientific backing to the lyrics of her ever so irritatingly catchy song.

Researchers at Stanford University have some speculation that the feelings involving love actually have the same effects as painkillers and some illegal drugs, such as cocaine, on the brain. Nothing of course is official yet, but its rather interesting how closely related the brain reacts to love & pain. The prospective study does not include the use of feelings from long lasting relationships that have fallen out of the “puppy love state” stage, but rather that the subjects have “passionate” feelings for their significant other.

Back to midterms studying. Human physiology, orgo chem, physics, guitar, and awaaaaayyyy.

I saw a report on another study that talked about unhealthy foods having an effect similar to cocaine’s. You have it once and it rocks, but then you need more and more to get the same feeling you had the first time you had it.

But I don’t know why they use the term love.. when it seems like the people they did the study on weren’t in love with each other yet.. they were still in the infatuation stage. I totally understand infatuation relieving pain, but on the downside, like it’s latin root words, it makes you stupid. very, very, very stupid. *bangs head on table remembering past*
