First Case: Baby Cured of HIV

I had to post on this since everyone is talking about it. I won’t elaborate, as the articles I will link to will go into detail, but essentially doctors had treated a baby with drugs after birth and now that baby has no active HIV virus active in their system. What I wanted to highlight is something someone on my Facebook feed brought up: this is not technically a “cure” since it was effective only within a certain time window  that denied the virus a chance to find a place to remain dormant. This dormant HIV virus is what current treatments are having difficulty targeting. All the same, this is a great accomplishment.
